DARK HORSE MAY BE LEEDS’ WHITE KNIGHT

The future at Elland Road may have got a whole lot brighter.Inspired by the successful takeover of Chelsea by Russian oil-tycoonRoman Abramovich, another powerful businessman, this time from the little-known former soviet republic of Molvania, has suddenly emerged as the Leeds’ potential saviour.

Jerko Guglob III , Eastern Europe’s “Genetically Modified Beetroot Baron” (his company produces over 90% of the world’s green beetroot), has thrown his furry hat into the ring.

Guglob (or “the toe-cutter” as he is referred to by Interpol) is also a major player in his country’s hardware industry – both home and military.

Recently, one of his construction companies was awarded a lucrative contract by President-General Yurog Tutak (Guglob’s accountant) to erect the showpiece building in Molvania’s new Parliament House, TheOpposition Leader’sTomb.

What sets his bid apart from that of Steve Parkin, is that Guglob has pledged not only to build a new stand at Elland Road but, if the fans wanted, he would bury former chairman Peter Risdale in its foundations.
